In 2005, Cannon IV, Inc., an HP Public Sector Elite partner, began working with MSD of Wayne Township to develop a new imaging and printing strategy. The Metropolitan School District (MSD) of Wayne Township in Indianapolis, Ind., is no exception, and that is why it is an early adopter of technologies that will help control costs and redirect savings. In this age of increasing demands and tight budgets, school districts everywhere are constantly looking for ways to control operational expenses so they can redirect funds into the education processes. Serving a student population of 16,000 students with diverse needs, MSD of Wayne Township employs 1,100 teachers in 19 schools and has a total of 24 separate buildings. By serving on the Wayne Township School Board, I hope to apply my community knowledge and experience, leadership skills, and dedication to students to help establish and maintain a quality educational foundation that leads to the advancement in life for our Wayne Township Students. The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township is a school district located in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was an elected official of the Wayne Township Board from 2008-2016 and currently, an appointed member of the Wayne Township Fire Dept. When my children were in school, I was involved with various activities from elementary to high school including: Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Human Relations Advisory Committee, basketball parent and, the most exciting, being a proud Box Mom for the Ben Davis Marching Giants. I am a married mother of three daughters, all graduates of Ben Davis HS.

As a 50-year resident of the community and former elected Wayne Township Board member, I am excited for the opportunity to serve the students and community again. My name is Karen Burke and I am a candidate for MSD of Wayne Township School Board.
